The #BlackHillsWolves Blog Hunt: Bringing the Book to Life with Dena Garson

When I began work on my BHW book, Your Wild Heart, I was fortunate enough to make a connection with a Forester who works at/in the Black Hills National Forest. Right off she explained the differences between the parks in the Black Hills. Did you know the area included the National Forest, national parks and monuments, Custer State Park, as well as private land? And all this time I thought it was one big park!

Even more interesting were the various jobs and responsibilities in each. While narrowing down exactly what my hero did I learned that there are distinctive differences in a National Park Ranger and a National Forest Ranger. A National Park Ranger acts as an interpreter or law enforcement agent where as a Forest Ranger is responsible for a specific district and the resource preservation within.

So next time you visit a national park look a little closer at your surroundings. You never know what might be going on behind the scenes. As for me, I’m trying to figure out when I can take a trip to South Dakota to take my Forester friend up on her offer of a tour - I can’t wait! Meanwhile I’ll just have to live vicariously through our characters.

About Your Wild Heart

Wildlife biologist, Isabelle Acker, meets sexy park ranger, Wyatt Powell. His Wolf sits up and takes notice of her, but when he learns why she came to the park, he becomes wary of her intentions. After all, as far as the general population knows, there are no wolves in the Black Hills.

Ordered by his Alpha to keep an eye on the smoking-hot biologist, Wyatt finds it difficult to keep his hands to himself. He wants to possess her, to share everything about his life, but that might endanger the Tao Pack. But the attraction proves too great and, unable to deny his Wolf, he takes her with a passion he didn’t know he possessed.

However, their sexual bliss is short-lived, and on the night of the full moon, more than one secret is revealed. When all is said and done, they must each decide—is what they have between them true love or just hot sex?
