New Release: Finding a Home #BHW #MM #NewBook #Shifter

My favorite part of starting a new story is really diving into the characters in search of what they need. I know, it seems like they’d all need to find his or her other half. That’s the heart of any good romance, right? And sometimes that’s the case. With other heroes and heroines, they need something more.

When I started writing Long Road Home I was really drawn to Hank. What did he need? What had driven this Wolf to a life on the road as a truck driver? Every time I thought about a Wolf being on the road it just seemed like such a solitary and lonely life. Wolfs lived for pack and community. What did he need to bring balance to these realities? Finding love wouldn’t be enough for him.

Hank needed to find peace. A return to the Tao Pack seemed like a perfect place for the start of his journey.

Amazon | ARe | KOBO

Thom is suspicious, flirty, and—worst of all—human. He believes the whole town of Los Lobos is one large cult. And if that isn’t bad enough, somebody seems determined to kill him. The man might as well have a huge, Do Not Touch sign painted on his back.

None of that stops Hank from wanting the farmer the moment they meet. Just because he wants something, however, doesn’t mean he’s going to get it. He learned that lesson early on in life. Thanks to his sexual orientation, he’ll never find the one thing every Wolf craves: a pack. Best for him to do his job and get back on the road.

But time spent with a human can do funny things to a Wolf. Especially a human as addictive as Thom.

Throwback Thursday: Not Every Mating is Love at First Bite #TBT #ReluctantMates @ChandraRyan

Amazon | ARe | iBooks | Kobo | Nook

Aimee Crest is the prissiest, most stuck-up Wolf Jackson Cooper has ever met. The woman has a temper that would send sailors running and enough emotional baggage to keep a shrink in business for a lifetime. A Wolf would do well to steer clear of her. And Jackson would be happy to do just that-if it weren't for one little thing that makes her irresistible to him. She's his mate.

It's a fate Aimee didn't ask for and one she's not at all happy about. She doesn't want a mate. More to the point, she refuses to accept one. Even if that mate happens to be tall, muscular, and damn good with his hands. He won't be able to seduce his way into her heart. She won't let him.

But in this battle of wills, there is no middle ground. Somebody is going to have to surrender.

Black Hills Wolves Character Interview…Meet Kru

Thank you for coming to chat with us today. Why do you think TL Reeve chose you to represent her/him?

Kru: *Shrugs* She guilted me into this interview. Said something about; if she hadn’t brought Gabby into my life, I’d still be alone doing the same thing over and over again. Blah, blah, blah. *Mutters* Almost got me and Gabby killed in the meantime.

Tell us a little about yourself?

Kru: There’s not much to tell. I left the Black Hills as a teenager. Went to Las Vegas. Met some people. Did some things. Got really good at those things. *Narrows his eyes* No, I won’t tell you what I did. For that, you have to read the book.

Where do you live?

Kru: Los Lobos, Black Hills, South Dakota

What music do you listen too?

Kru: Anything loud. Anything with a good beat and I can zone out with.

What skills or talents do you bring to the pack?

Kru: I have a special skillset. You know that movie Taken? Well…I put the guy to shame.

Is there anything you wish TL Reeve had kept their mouth shut about?

Kru: There is one thing, but I’m not ashamed of it or anything. I’m bisexual. She just had to put Graham right in front of me.

Tell us about Gabby what drew you to him/her/them?

Kru: Honestly? Her confidence. She’s curvy and hot. She knows it. Gabby is also pretty freaking smart too. She followed me without me, a wolf, even knowing she was there. Caused some problems, but she’s got the it factor and she’s tough as nails. You don’t mess with the girl. She’s libel to geld you.

What do you do to relax?

Kru: *Smirks* I think you know the answer to this question. *Chuckles*

What about the Man/Woman on the cover is that a fair representation of you?

Kru: Pretty spot on. He’s a little smaller than me, but I think the picture does me justice. I am a handsome fucker after all. *Grins*

What are your plans for Los Lobos?

Kru: Construction and building a new life with my family and pack. I gave up my old job and old life the day I left Vegas. For Gabby I’m willing to go legit. I’m willing to settle down and try something different. We’ll see how it goes.

If you could make one thing happen in town, what would it be?

Kru: Hmm…I never thought about really. I never thought I’d come back, so being home is different. I guess time will tell what happens next. I might add a bit of my flair to the town. I’m sure Drew would enjoy that. *Chuckles*

A Contract gone wrong.

Kru Hawthorne left home years ago. Unable to watch the abuse his sister suffered at the hands of Magnum and his crones, Kru hit the road. Chased by the demons of his past, he drifts for years before making a home in the seedy underbelly of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gabby Salvador, sister to Craven Salvador, President of the Vipers Motorcycle club, watched her brother take his last breath. When the devastatingly handsome Kru arrives moments later, she knows something isn't right. Sticking to the shadows, she follows him to Rapid City, South Dakota, and finds something she never expected.

One text that changes everything.

Kru and Gabby's lives collide through a text and an attempt on Gabby's life. Together they'll have to figure out who put the hit on Craven and why they want Gabby as well. But, with the full moon, Gabby will be faced with an even bigger decision. Trust the man who isn't what he claims to be and take the protection he offers, or hit the road and pray she's never found.

Excerpt:

“Of all the people who could’ve been looking for me, it’s you.” His muscular frame settled in the chair next to the table where she’d been working. “If you’re thinking about killing me, it won’t happen, Gabby.”
Her heart lurched. Adrenaline kicked in along with her fight or flight instinct. The way he gazed at her like a predatory animal, made a sliver of unease wiggle through her. “Well, at least we know where we stand, Kru,” she said, straightening her shoulders. “You should know the real reason I asked you here.”
“Explain it for me, beautiful? I’m having a hard time remembering,” he drawled, while giving her a smoldering look.
“You know damn well what I’m talking about,” she snarled, amazed at his relaxed posture. He eased the curtain open a little then glanced over at her, waiting for her to continue. “Do I have to spell it out?” Anger replaced her apprehension.
“No, but I’d like your assessment of what happened. I’m almost positive you were the one in Craven’s office. Tell me what you saw.” He folded his hands in his lap, like he didn’t have a care in the world.
She curled her tongue against her cheek and nodded. “Okay, cabrón. We’ll play your game.” Gabby sat forward in her chair, her hands trembled with repressed anger. “I saw your ass storm into my brother’s office, gun drawn, like you were going to kill him. Which means only one thing, you were contracted.”

Merryn Dexter Shares Her #FavoriteThings about the #BlackHillsWolves

Hi Everyone! Merryn here, and don't worry about the title of this post, I promise I won't be singing. Given that my DH has claimed my singing voice should be banned under the Geneva Convention as a form of cruel and unusual punishment - that is a very good thing!

I first became involved with the Black Hills Wolves series as an avid reader and I am going to lay claim to the position of #1 fan (I know there is a lot of competition for this position!). I am also going to be a part of the series as a writer, so I thought I would share some of the things I love about the Tao Pack.

1. Drew, Ryker and Gee  - I know, I know, this is a pretty obvious one but without these three pivotal and very different characters, the series just wouldn't be the same. There are so many stories out there with a strong Alpha, completely in control of his destiny. Drew's struggle to claim his heritage and rebuild his pack from the ashes is, for me, a refreshing change. Ryker is another complex character and his long journey from Boogeyman to redeemed hero is one that I think every reader is going to fall in love with. And finally Gee. The lone bear in a pack of wolves. Keeper of the Pack History and holder of so many secrets. I think we've only just begun to scratch the surface with him and the more glimpses I have, the more I am intrigued by his big heart.

2. The different kinds of hero - Whatever your taste in heroes, BHW has what you are looking for. We have bad boys who achieve their true potential once they find their mates - Colt, Ravage, Kennedy, Roark, I'm looking at you fellas! We have the strong silent types with very different reasons for keeping their own secrets - Ogden, Z, Ryker. We have good guys who know what's right and just need to persuade their mates to fall in line with the plan - Marcus, Bastian, Jace, even Drew. I'm also going to place the forthcoming hero of my book (A Mate's Healing TouchCaleb in this category - I think you will find him very persuasive!

3. Let's hear it for the Omegas - Although I love kick-ass Alpha males and beautiful, strong-willed Beta females, I'm thrilled that the series focuses on gentle-natured characters too. There is strength in submission, in trusting your mate to give you what you need. Patch is a true Sub, finding her perfect Dom in a human. Sweet Tasha who tames Colt and gives him the strength to embrace his future. Paul the barman who steals everyone's heart and who I hope will get his own HEA sooner rather than later. Kole who finds true fulfilment with two mates - a human and a wolf.

4. Los Lobos - A remote town deep in the Black Hills of South Dakota, following the gradual revival of this broken-down community is as much of a pleasure for me as seeing each couple (or triad) fight for and win their HEAs. Each new development adds a layer to the overall story, a new environment to explore, another setting to picture my favorite characters. Gee's Bar - The Den, small businesses like the B&B, the Bookshop and Ogden's Lumber Yard. The Schoolhouse, the Barn. The locations are so well realized that I can picture myself walking down the streets and running through the wild untamed hills as part of the pack.

5. The Authors - A shared world is a fantastic way to be introduced to new authors. Maintaining consistency throughout the series whilst allowing each person their own unique voice must be akin to wrangling a group of over-excited teenage girls at a One Direction gig. I say this from experience (although given our ages, you probably need a time machine and a Duran Duran gig for accuracy). With infinite patience and the odd well-placed kick in the pants, the creative team behind the series keep us in line and still manage to provide the creative freedom we crave. As a reader, I see it too. Each writer weaves their own thread into the tapestry of the Black Hills Wolves series and together I think we are creating something unique and beautiful

If you'd like to explore more about the characters I have mentioned, you can follow this link to our series list and reading order which details the couple featured in each book.

Happy Reading!

Infiltrating her Pack
Black Hill Wolves
By Dominique Eastwick

The mysterious and intimidating lone wolf, Z, has returned to Los Lobos. Descended from a long line of gifted yet secretive shifters known as Infiltrators, his people are the spies of the shifting world, rarely seen and harder to track.

Ripley Greystone has a big problem—her pack is Alpha-less and a local coyote band knows it. The safety of her pack rides on trusting Drew, the new Alpha of the Black Hills Wolves. But, admitting the reason for needing his help isn’t something she’s quite ready to do.

Drew senses there’s more to Ripley’s request to join his pack than what she leads him to believe. There’s only one way to know for sure—send an Infiltrator to spy on Ripley and her pack.

Forced to infiltrate her pack to discover its hidden secrets and protect it from the coyotes determined to claim the she-wolves for themselves, Z finds more than he expects—all the while fighting the need to claim Ripley as his mate.

A hairsbreadth divided them, and it took all the willpower he processed to fight the building desire to pull her into his arms. Her breathing quickened, and as he gazed into her blue eyes, her raw sensuality forced him deeper into the cavernous pit he’d fallen in when he’d first seen her.
The words came out on a whisper. “You feel it, too, don’t you?”
“This attraction?” Z raised an eyebrow.
She closed her eyes. “It won’t work. I have secrets you could never understand.”
“We all have secrets,” he said then gave in to his animal nature and claimed her lips, though touching her nowhere else. He burned himself into her, forcing her to recant her words of denial.
It will work. He didn’t know how, but he didn’t think he could walk away from these feelings again. Having ensured the Greystones posed no threat to the Tao Pack, he could make his top priority the safety of his mate. His second would be to figure out the logistics of having a mate not of his pack.
Her deep groan rumbled through him, and every thought but Ripley faded. Passion swirled and something new, something different…something more, accompanied by a fizz running along his spine and through his nervous system, charging his powers. The urge to howl grew.

Releasing Her Wolfish Side with @DeenaRemiel

Happy Release Day to me and to DISQUIETED SOULS, #29 in the BLACK HILLS WOLVES Series!

I am a long-time reader and fan of shifter novels. The story of how I became one sounds rather like a line from the Eagles’ song, Hotel California. “You can check out anytime you like, but you can never leave.” I “checked in” when I came across Laurel K Hamilton’s Anita Blake series. She knows how to make vamps and all manner of shifter sexy as hell! I added Christine Feehan’s vamps and shifters to my repertoire and just about died. My love affair with the hot and sexy supernatural creatures glowed strong. After consuming book after book, I eventually veered away from the genre and read others, but as the line intimates above, I couldn’t leave it behind for long.

A couple of years after getting thoroughly immersed in reading romance and all its genres, I started my own romance writing career. One would’ve thought I’d dive right into writing shifters, but no! It’s taken me six years to return to the genre that wooed me in the first place, and I’M NEVER LEAVING!

Writing Disquieted Souls for the multi-author series, Black Hills Wolves, has been transformational, challenging, rewarding, and addictive! I’m already writing another story for it. Not only do I get to sculpt characters with one personality, but here, I get to sculpt characters with two- their human and their wolf sides. Emotional highs and lows are considered for both, an intricate task that serves up a tasty treat in the end.

Disquieted Souls has so much going on inside its pages. There are layers to be peeled away, lessons to be learned, wounds to be healed, and at its heart, a romance to shape the future of two disquieted souls. Here, take a look:

BLURB:
Willow Bissett, a fashion photographer, has had enough of the career that’s blackened her soul, and wants out. Her passion lies in taking pictures of nature, and she’s determined to make a living from doing it. When she stumbles upon a gruesome scene in the Black Hills Forest, her life is forever changed.

Greyson shouldn't be alive. As the runt of the litter, his mother left him to die in the wilderness. Picked up by Drew, son of the Alpha, he is adopted into the Tao Pack. Rather than living a charmed life, he lives his days alone, tormented by his abandonment and his unique appearance. His soul yearns for acceptance, peace, and closure.

Willow could be the answer to Greyson’s prayers, or the very death of him.
